Aotearoa New Zealand celebrated at midnight on Monday as the country lifted COVID-19 restrictions. Juliet enjoyed “a cheeky midnight single malt” and thanked the scientists who stepped up to support the pandemic response. Her celebratory drink was one of several joyous responses included in media coverage of the move to Alert Level 1.
